Fatehgarh Sahib | 12 March 2026

techcadd conducted an Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Seminar at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, on 12 March 2026. The event introduced students to important areas of modern technology, including AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and Data Science.

The seminar explored how emerging technologies are influencing the IT industry and how students can prepare for technology-focused careers, with continuous learning, practical exposure and problem-solving highlighted as important parts of developing relevant skills.

Topics covered

  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies
  • Fundamentals of Machine Learning and Deep Learning
  • Neural Networks and intelligent computing
  • Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision
  • Introduction to Data Science and data-driven insights
  • Real-world applications of AI across industries
  • Emerging trends in software and technology
  • Industry-relevant skills and careers in AI, ML and Data Science

Why AI awareness matters

AI-based systems can recognise patterns, process language, analyse images, forecast trends and assist with repetitive work. Their usefulness depends on the quality of the data, the design of the system, the context in which it is used and human oversight.

An awareness seminar is a starting point for practical questions: what problem does a technology solve, what knowledge is needed to use it, how can its output be checked, and what are its limits?

Key technology areas explained

  • AI and Machine LearningSystems that learn patterns from data; start with programming, basic statistics and small experiments.
  • Deep LearningMulti-layered neural networks behind image recognition, speech and language technologies.
  • Natural Language ProcessingEnabling computers to work with human language — classification, translation, search, summarisation.
  • Computer VisionAnalysing images and video, with care for testing conditions, privacy and incorrect predictions.
  • Data SciencePreparing, analysing and communicating data so conclusions are supported by evidence.

Connecting classroom learning with practical skills

  • Define the problem and explain why it matters.
  • Identify the concepts, tools and data needed.
  • Build a small prototype or a focused analysis.
  • Test on suitable examples and record errors.
  • Document the process, limitations and improvements.
  • Ask for specific feedback and revise the work.

Responsible and ethical use of AI

AI tools can assist with brainstorming, coding and research, but their output can be incomplete or incorrect. Verify important claims, test generated code, protect personal information and follow your institution’s academic-integrity rules.

“Choose one topic, learn its fundamentals and try a small project.”

Awareness events help students discover unfamiliar fields, understand applications and identify the skills they want to develop further.
